Double Iraq took the lead in average time, complete Ali Faez – a penalty – and Farhan Shakor, only for Korea to equalize through Kwon Changhoon – who had just come on as a substitute – and Lee Gwanghun.
Farhan thought he had stuck down the last-four spot two minutes from the end of extra-time, but Jung Hyuncheol achieved a brilliant strike in the second minute of added-on time after being thrown into the fray moments beforehand.
However, Iraq finished the job 5-4 on penalties, Farhan positioning the winning spot-kick.
